Last of the Cat Updates

January 21, 2010

Diesel’s now in full recovery mode – has the run of the house and has no longer to wear the protective collar.

I’m back to semi-normal, but gaming not QUITE as much as usual.

I will attempt a return to blogging properly next week. Be scared.

Still Alive

December 22, 2009

I am, the blog is, I’m just a bit under the weather and finding time or something to say isn’t my priority.

In LotRO, I’ve been running the 3-man and 6-man Dol Guldur instances, finally finished all the Mirkwood quests (bar the raid one) on my Captain. And slowly getting Minstrel up via Lothlorien repeatable quests. It’s incredibly lazy but pretty good rep, xp and not much killing – which suits my minstrel well.

In Dragon Age – I’m in the final fight, somewhere. But died, saved and haven’t had a chance to go back yet. And now letting my husband have a play at it. It’ll happen, before 2010!

In other news – moved my computer up to the study. A 3rd bedroom in the house that started as a study for my husband and then became a dumping ground for ‘stuff’. So we cleared that out on sunday and moved the computer up. So I now have my own little den. It’s pretty cool. But further from the kitchen. Oh noes!!!

Random thought…

October 30, 2009

They say ‘more than a handful is a waste’ in terms of boobage. Think ANY games designers have heard that? ;p

So…

July 29, 2009

Am back in the UK, and heading home today. Which means sometime soon my schedule will return to normal and I can reconsider blogging again.

Would you like:

  • Info about Comic Con, what I did & saw, even if it’s not game-y at all?
  • My review and feelings about District 9?
  • Just games stuff again, all the time!

Off till tuesday

June 20, 2009

Off to London to visit family. Will have net, but probably not be blogging. Unless I feel like it.

In the meantime, I just wanted to say the LA Times sucks for saying girls are ready for Comic Con because of cute male actors, female empowerment TV shows, but failing to mention comics or any other reason. Especially as I just read Captain Britain and MI13 and loved it (part of Secret Invasion, for the record).

And in other links, Pokemon come to pedometers with the Pokewalker. Scary, but at one point I’d have gone for this.

Games put on 1960s style Penguin covers. Not sure what to say about it, except I liked it.

Good work Syp! Reporting for the No Elves Club about Free Realms adding the race. Another reason to not play Free Realms (though I’m sure it’s a lot of fun, it’s just not for me).

BoGged Down

June 17, 2009

Today I removed Book of Grudges from my ‘Favorites’ list. Can’t believe it stayed on there that long, esp. as it’s not exactly hard for me to memorise and type out the URL if I ever want to check it out. Felt strange though, so I thought I’d mention it.

Which brings me to WAR. The pre-Land of the Dead live event has started in the US and is coming to the EU today (ok, so it amused me to have the words Dead and live so close together in a badly-formed sentence), and the buzz has started. Patch 1.3 is out in the wild, ready for action. Sounds like people are having fun with it, though I’ve not immersed myself in too much chit-chat about the ‘expansion’ so far. Mostly because I’ve decided to give it another month before considering WAR again. Partly for things to settle in, so I can take my time about it, and partly cos I’m away for 2.5 weeks in June and I’m too cheap to pay for a month’s play when I can’t make use of it. Ha ha. At least I admit it!

In LotRO, rejoined my old kin, and was a bit overwhelmed by background chatter again, albeit friendly and welcoming. Was the right choice at the right time, and we celebrated by um… doing a 3-man instance 3 times (that sounds like we were invoking some weird spell, I wonder if we went around widdershins or deosil!). Anyway, was a good night and about all I could manage after finally getting on my bike and doing a commute to and from work for the first time in a while.

Dentist today. !joy. Then maybe alcohol, depending what dentist does. One of my fave co-workers leaves this week, and the mood is therefore sober and not-sober all at the same time.

Interlude

June 12, 2009

Right now I have a few things going on, both in LotRO and in the real world. Also have a new smartphone to play with, and a new EQ2 account too! It’s a lot to take in, so blog posts are likely to be a bit sporadic or silly for the next few days until I get my head around it all. And then I can post about it and enthrall you!

What I’m doing…

May 26, 2009

So, first I have a cold (almost better), then I’m working overtime this week (gone from my normal 16h/week to fulltime for one week only, I hope), and then I had a bit of a fall last week that injured my ‘mouse’ hand and my shoulder. So I haven’t been on the computer as much as I could have been.

I’ve been catching up with my RSS feed reading though, and have a bunch of ideas of stuff to write. I’ve also got to write a couple of things for Quilldragon (a blog about fantasy literature).

In games, I’ve mostly been treading water in LotRO. The Conan account runs out on 3rd June, so I have a week or so to decide if I want to sub and for how long. I would quite like to get to the level cap, I enjoy the group even if it’s not been that challenging yet.

And I’ve been reading about Book 8 in LotRO. Not too many changes for my Captain, but some nice tweaks to Burglars, some expected tweaks to Runekeepers and Minstrels and more instances, a new raid and other stuff that I might need to be slightly prepared for. We’ve also been doing weekly PuG Turtle raids (at >10 mins per fight, it’s not hard to fit in). Considered levelling my Minstrel from 50 to 60 but waiting for some alts to reach the same kind of level.

So, I hope to have a few thought pieces this week, but they may be fairly brief as work tires me out more and more as the week progresses. By sunday I’ll be free again!
